Startup Success Manager - Third Derivative
New technologies and business models are critically needed for the energy transition but suffer from inadequate investment. D3 is a joint venture between Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) and New Energy Nexus that reimagines how early-stage cleantech is brought to market by combining an accelerator, 8+ integrated VC funds ($800M+ in capital), 15 global corporate partners (including Microsoft, AT&T, Wells Fargo, Shell, and others), and RMI’s knowledge, expertise and network. Vertically integrating an early stage accelerator and VC fund with corporates’ resources and know-how will overcome the capital intensity and timeline challenges of cleantech investing.
Third Derivative is seeking a Startup Success Manager to help guide D3’s annual cohort of startups. At the start of each cohort, the Manager works with startups, VC investors, and corporations to develop customized investment and partnership roadmaps for each startup. Over the course of the program, the manager advises the startups, liaises between them and VC, corporates, and the wider energy ecosystem, helps them access D3 and RMI’s resources, facilitates peer-to-peer learning, monitors their progress, and helps organize D3 events. Startups that make substantive progress are likely to receive follow-on VC investment or corporate partnerships.
