Program Overview

The Electricity Program supports the rapid transition to a zero-carbon electricity system that can power a secure, prosperous, and equitable US economy. We work with utilities and state regulators to overhaul business models and evolve utilities into “utilities of the future,” with businesses to develop and share solutions for integrating clean energy and distributed resources into the grid. We specifically work with influential early adopters who are willing to experiment with and ultimately implement transformative solutions.

Position Overview 

RMI is seeking an experienced Program Coordinator with exceptional organizational and communication skills to facilitate successful execution of all operations within the Electricity program, enabling maximum impact and return on investment. This position will report to the Electricity Managing Director.  The Program Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that the knowledge developed by the program is effectively managed and communicated to relevant parties. The Program Coordinator drives efficiency across operations and supports successful execution by monitoring and reporting on progress, resource usage and performance to objectives. This individual will also ensure program budgets and progress are reported to staff and funders, and that the program coordinates and collaborates with stakeholders to drive change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain program budget by reforecasting on a monthly basis and support with annual budget creation
  • Ensure all team members are properly planned in project management tool
  • Maintain project structures and create new projects when needed in project management tool
  • Review and approve timesheets and expense reports for the program
  • Plan, organize, and execute program-related events
  • Liaison between the program team and RMI’s operational departments
  • Work with Development and the program team to ensure all funding opportunities are up to date in Salesforce on a monthly basis
  • Support program fundraising and business development efforts by managing the development of proposals, ensuring consistency in proposal formatting and documentation, and contributing to proposal writing
  • Act as a liaison between finance and the program to ensure that the correct rates are being used for budgets in funding proposals and contracts
  • Facilitate and manage the monitoring and reporting against all requirements in the program’s grant and contract agreements
  • Support program team with staff recruitment for the full range of program needs and positions, to include contractors when necessary
  • Create and maintain the program’s SharePoint site, pages and libraries
  • Assist the Program Marketer with the planning and execution of outreach to target audiences and stakeholders, to include management and effective use of CRM systems
  • Manage invoices, current contracts, creation of new contracts and relationships with current and future program contractors
  • Additional responsibilities, as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible administrative, operations, project management or related experience
  • Experience in managing multiple funding sources
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software skills
  • Proven organization skills and flexibility when it comes to balancing priorities
